iPhone Application Provides Mobile Access to Medical Information

By HospiMedica International staff writers
Posted on 21 Oct 2009

An innovative iPhone mobile phone application provides instant access to important documents, medical information, and personal data, exactly when needed.

Orggit is a web-based software solution that offers individuals and families the ability to securely store, organize, and manage critical information and documents, from vital health information to everyday numbers and passwords. The software provides instant access to all the information securely stored in the specified location. Each account also comes with an “in case of emergency “ (ICE) card that users can carry with them and enables emergency medical responders to obtain their crucial medical information during an emergency. Additional features include alerts and reminders to inform people when their credit cards, driver's license, passport, or any other wallet items are about to expire; a centralized medical section for vital medical information that can be accessed from anywhere, including allergies, family history, immunization records, medical conditions, medical documents, ICE contacts, and medical directives for first responders.

Other sections of Orggit include a secure passwords and account codes file, a digital filing cabinet with space for approximately 10,000 documents, from financial and legal documents to insurance policies and receipts, and an online wallet that enables users to store and view contents of their wallets without having to carry it around with them. Information can be shared with up to 10 designated delegates, including family members, caregivers, and others. The Orggit iPhone application was developed by Morgan Street Documents (Chicago, IL, USA), and is available from the App Store on the iPhone and iPod touch, or via the iTunes website.

“Orggit's new iPhone application is perfect for any family or individual who is on the go and needs access to vital information at any time,” said Thania Panopoulos, Orggit chief operations officer. “We believe that users will be impressed by the level of detail they are able to store, organize and access using Orggit, as well as how intuitive it is to share their information with their family members or designated delegates.”
