An innovative spinal fusion system offers multiple, minimally invasive rod insertion options and a seamless navigated surgical experience.

The sixth generation CD Horizon Solera Voyager Spinal System is designed to provide spinal stabilization and correction (as an adjunct to fusion) in patients suffering from painful, function-limiting disorders of the middle and lower back. The system now offers surgeons performing transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF) procedures the flexibility to choose either a percutaneous or Wiltse minimally invasive approach for rod insertion.

The system also features a low-profile, extended-tab screw with inner threading to ease rod insertion and reduction. System components include high strength, low profile multi-axial pedicle screws, iliac screws, hooks, lateral connectors, and crosslink plates designed for use with multiple rod types; powered instruments developed specifically for spinal implants; minimally invasive techniques, navigation tools, and advanced reduction technology that are compatible with the system; and implant traceability enhanced with inventory and billing management.

Manual surgical instruments available with the CD Horizon Solera Voyager Spinal System include a sequential rod reducer; a rod gripper for controlled manipulation; a proprietary hinged translator that compresses and distracts off the rod, not the implant; a dual-ended set-screw starter with a knurled grip; and an instrument set for screw preparation that includes awls, probes, and ratchets. The CD Horizon Solera Voyager Spinal System is a product of Medtronic (Dublin, Ireland).

“Medtronic is known for our life-changing innovations and groundbreaking technologies. That legacy—along with our broad portfolio and collaborative partnerships—enables us to truly make an impact on patient care,” said Doug King, president of the spinal business and senior vice president of Medtronic. “This system represents our commitment to take minimally invasive techniques and 3D-navigated surgery even further, and develop solutions with clinical and economic value.”

The system is also part of the Medtronic Surgical Synergy Spinal Platform, an integrated portfolio of navigated surgical technologies that include imaging, navigation, and powered surgical instruments.
