Canon Electron Tubes & Devices Co., Ltd. (Ōtawara, Japan) displayed its range of X-ray tubes, X-ray flat panel detectors (FPDs) and X-ray image intensifiers at MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair that was held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 12-15, 2018.

More than 5,000 international exhibitors presented their new innovative products and applications at this year’s edition of MEDICA. The event also saw a number of forums, conferences and special shows featuring specialist lectures and discussions that provided an insight into electromedicine, laboratory medicine, medical technology and diagnostics.

Canon offers a variety of products that constitute key components in the medical X-ray imaging chain such as stationary and rotating anode X-ray tubes, X-ray image intensifiers and FPDs. At MEDICA 2018, Canon displayed rotating anode X-ray tube assemblies for CT scanners, angiography systems and mammography systems, as well as stationary anode X-ray tube assemblies for dental and medical systems. Canon also displayed its range of wireless, fixed, tethered and dynamic types of FPDs for digital radiographic applications that deliver high sensitivity, high resolution, low noise and superior image quality, while offering the benefits of lower radiation dose to the patient. Also on display at the event were the company’s X-ray image intensifiers used for radioscopy and digital radiography in the medical diagnosis field and featuring a wide range of camera systems with screen sizes varying from 4 inches to 16 inches and application-specific attributes.
