A new electronic pulse oxygen device called ePOD combines the durability and simplicity of pneumatic conservers with the pulse dose capability of electronic conservers.

ePOD features easy-to-understand function. More...
Instead of audible alarms, three indicator lights monitor all operations. ePOD comes with a two-year guaranteed battery life, estimated to be 3.5 million breaths, based on 20 breaths per minute for four hours a day over two years.

If the battery needs to be replaced, the device can operate in the continuous flow mode without any power at all, helping to reinforce patient safety. ePOD was developed by Respironics, Inc. (Murraysville, PA, USA), a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of products that serve respiratory and sleep markets.

"ePOD is a new approach to oxygen management,” stated Jon McLellan, director of marketing, Home Respiratory Care, Respironics. "With a 4.25:1 conservation ratio in the pulse dose mode, our product gives providers and patients a longer battery life and longer tank life. This helps to bring greater predictability to the increasingly unpredictable world of oxygen supply.”
