New Brain Ultrasound Platform Enables Bedside Postoperative Imaging

Bedside visualization may help reduce transport demands, lower radiation exposure, and support continuity from the intensive care unit through outpatient recovery. A newly launched system now provides a persistent ultrasound interface to the brain, enabling real-time, point-of-care imaging at the implant site.

Longeviti Neuro Solutions (Baltimore, MD, USA) has introduced ClearFit AI, a Brain Ultrasound Interface (BUI) designed to unlock postoperative ultrasound access to the brain and advance platform solutions for neurological disorders. The integrated platform combines ClearFit sonolucent cranial implants, ultrasound compatibility, clinical workflow and training support, and artificial intelligence–enhanced imaging. By establishing a persistent acoustic window at the implant site, the system enables real‑time bedside imaging and supports future advances in AI‑assisted neurosurgical care; AI-assisted imaging optimization is currently available only on Clarius Ultrasound units.

The platform is powered by ultrasound‑penetrable, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared implants manufactured by the company. As an adjunct imaging approach, the BUI model is could contribute to expanded bedside visualization, reduced operational transport burdens, increased accessibility to imaging technologies, and improved workflow efficiency. The company notes that any future clinical, operational, or economic benefits will depend on regulatory review, validation activities, adoption patterns, and real‑world implementation.

For clinicians, the BUI provides the ability to assess the brain at the bedside, potentially decreasing time spent scheduling imaging, arranging transport for postoperative patients, and waiting for results. For patients, access through the implant site may translate to fewer scanner trips and less radiation exposure. Bedside ultrasound visualization may extend from the intensive care unit into outpatient and recovery settings.
