Diagnostic Instruments Offer Precision, Accuracy

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 12 Mar 2006
A suite of new diagnostic instruments that offer high precision and accuracy has been developed for clinical laboratories. More...
The suite is to be introduced at the CLMA ThinkLab Conference & Exhibition in March 2006 in Charlotte (NC, USA).

The exhibit of Advanced Instruments (Norwood, MA, USA) will give prominence to the Advanced model 3320 micro-osmometer, which accurately measures osmolality, ensuring a high standard of freezing-point measurement. A user-selectable, optimal calibration routine optimizes the linearity in the instrument's upper range and ensures accuracy and precision over the entire calibrated range. The device features easy access to sample probe and solenoid assembly, and a simple architecture that eliminates sample errors, simplifies testing, and promotes maintenance-free operation.

The Advanced Instruments exhibit will include a multi-sample osmometer, which delivers accurate osmolality measurements, on-board data handling, and simple flexible reporting options; a single-sample osmometer, which is fast, reliable and accurate, and offers on-board sample identification and broad measurement range; a bilirubin stat-analyzer that provides rapid, accurate determination of total and direct bilirubin in neonates from a single 30 µl sample; the Anoxomat anaerobic system for obtaining anaerobic or microaerophilic environments in a jar--a fast economical automated solution.

A set of control solutions called Controline quality control materials for osmometers will be also on show. The line, designed to work in any freezing-point osmometer to optimize performance, includes Protinol protein based controls, Renol urine controls, Clinitrol reference solution, and the osmolality linearity set. Advanced Instruments is a worldwide provider of laboratory instruments.
