CO2 Incubators Achieve Optimal Cell Growth

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 31 Mar 2006
CO2 incubators enabling control of temperature, humidity, and CO2 also feature 180° C hot air sterilization for DNA destruction.

The incubators, from Binder (Tuttlington, Germany), create breeding conditions for optimal cell growth. More...
Humidity is permanently saturated and condensation is eliminated in the incubators. The inner chamber is entirely closed off without corners or edges, and no filters or fans are needed. The CB series also has an infrared (IR) CO2 sensor for drift-free differential measuring without calibration.

Applications include cultivation of a patient's own body tissues in regenerative medicine, research of human pathogenic bacteria and viruses, reproductive medicine, and cultivation of cells for the food industry. The incubators are suitable for medical institutes, research institutes, universities, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratories. Hematology, oncology, internal medicine, dermatology, neurology, and toxicology are only a few of the disciplines that will benefit from these incubators.
Binder specializes in temperature chambers for scientific and industrial laboratory applications. A comprehensive range of products is offered for routine applications, as well as highly specific tasks in the area of research and development, production, and quality assurance.
