LIMS Offers Choice of Languages

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 07 Apr 2006
The latest LIMS (laboratory information management system) innovation enables users to run the system in their native language.

WinLIMS is a sophisticated laboratory software package that can handle laboratory data, laboratory reporting requirements, business logic, sample workflows and, in essence, provide comprehensive laboratory management. More...
Quality Systems International (QSI, Aylesbury, UK) now supplies WinLIMS with the following languages: English, German, French, Dutch, simplified Chinese, and Portuguese. The user can set up any other language that might be needed, including languages that require double byte character sets such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Translation of user interface elements such as screens, menus, and dialogue boxes, gives individual users the convenience and ease of working in their own language. Global companies using centralized systems can move data around the world without the risk of losing vital information in translation

Operators can have their preferred language assigned to their WinLIMS staff record, and by simply logging on will immediately see the whole system in that language. Users have the ability to change or update the translations used to reflect changing situations and can even translate actual data including product names, method or parameter names, or details of raw media.

QSI's managing director, Clive Collier said, "We are currently unaware of any other LIMS vendor that can offer this degree of sophistication in language.”
