A PC-controlled instrument called Chem+Mix that fully automates the preparation and pH adjustment of chemical solutions won the Silver Award at the 2006 Pittsburgh Conference (PA, USA).

Using Chem+Mix, lab personnel have the ability to quickly and easily prepare accurate and consistent solutions, store solution preparation procedures, and print documentation--all at the touch of a button. The conference editors gave Chem+Mix high marks for its ability to save substantial time and money in preparing reagents used for applications such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), electrophoresis, and extraction methods development.

The Pittsburgh Conference is the largest, most comprehensive laboratory sciences event in the world, according to Chata Biosystems, attracting more than 20,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors from more than 80 countries. Each year, the conference editors select the three most innovative new products introduced to the industry. Chata's Chem+Mix won this year over products produced by well-known industry giants.

"Chata is honored to receive the Silver Award, particularly given this year's impressive showing of new technologies,” observed Jerald Kuiken, CEO of Chata Biosystems. "The response to Chem+Mix from R&D, drug discovery, and quality control lab personnel was extremely positive, and further demonstrates that laboratory automation technologies are in high demand.”

Chata Biosystems develops solutions that eliminate routine, expensive, and time-consuming tasks throughout the laboratory. From pre-prepared HPLC mobile phases, dissolution media, and standards, to raw materials testing and automated solution preparation, Chata is a source for lab efficiency solutions.
