Posted on 21 Jul 2006
An automated solution for the clinical laboratory offers coagulation, chemistry, and immunochemistry testing, with customer service and support through one provider.

Dade Behring (Deerfield, IL, USA) has introduced the capability to connect its Sysmex CA 7000 coagulation analyzer to the Streamlab analytical workcell, one of the company's automated solutions for the clinical laboratory.

The Streamlab analytical workcell features an open architecture design, which provides customers with the ability to connect multiple Dimension chemistry systems, third-party immunoassay systems, and now a high-speed coagulation system. More...
This type of open architecture allows customers to build a configuration customized to meet the needs of their own laboratory, taking into account requirements for space, test volume, and budget.

The Sysmex CA-7000 coagulation analyzer is a high-speed, fully automated, high-performance coagulation system. It is capable of running a wide range of assays including routine and specialty assays, using random access clotting, chromogenic, and immunologic methodologies. Additionally, cap-piercing capability is a standard feature of the Sysmex CA-7000 coagulation analyzer. The Streamlab analytical workcell provides for workstation consolidation while automating pre- and post-analytical functions. Multiple Dade Behring Dimension integrated chemistry systems can be connected to the Streamlab workcell, supporting a wide range of testing volumes.

Laboratories are consolidating testing across multiple disciplines in order to reduce operating costs, increase productivity and improve the efficiency of their overall processes, said Rick Lee, corporate vice president, global marketing, Dade Behring. Given the proven acceptance of the Sysmex CA-7000 coagulation analyzer, the new connectivity feature will provide an excellent option for customers to consolidate their coagulation and chemistry testing.
