Bead-Based Kits Simplify Antibody Assays

The kits represent a new approach to antibody quantitation by allowing assessments to be easily performed on a plate-based benchtop flow cytometer instead of traditional plate readers.

The first quantitative bead-based assays for Guava Technologies' (Hayward, CA, USA) microcytometry systems, the kits offer rapid and reproducible results in the most appropriate range for screening hybridoma culture media. Designed as universal IgG kits, the RapidQuant human IgG and mouse IgG assays quantify all IgG subtypes equivalently, saving time and money with a single assay. The IgG kits have extremely simplified protocols that require very little sample manipulation and significantly less time than the traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA) protocols.

RapidQuant IgG kits can combine with other Guava assays to accelerate the entire process of antibody screening by allowing all stages of screening to be performed from the culture media in a single well, without having to expand clones. Antibody in hybridoma supernatants is captured on beads, detected by fluorescently tagged antibodies, and quantified by fluorescence intensity.

Designed to be time-saving, labor-saving, and cost-efficient, Guava's RapidQuant kits eliminate the most tedious, laborious portions of antibody-titering methods. The system is robust, rapid, and highly reproducible.
