Metabolic Processing To Help Assess Embryo Viability

The ViaTest-E system enables rapid identification and simultaneous analysis of multiple small molecule biomarkers of OM in a single sample. This analysis is expected to lead to the fast, accurate detection of viable embryos of high reproductive potential. The metabolomics platform has also been applied to therapeutic applications, as well as pharmacodiagnostics, drug discovery and development.

Molecular Biometrics (Chester, New Jersey, USA) ViaTest-E is a non-invasive, POC system that targets in vitro biomarkers of oxidative metabolism (OM) that are indicative of embryo viability. Complex interactions between the pro-oxidants and antioxidants are crucial in the maintenance of normal intracellular homeostasis. An imbalance in these reactions results in OM, which is known to affect the quality of spermatozoa, eggs, and embryos.
