Conference on Updated Clinical and Laboratory Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Diabetes

The conference will focus on the updated US National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (NACB) guidelines for diabetes, and aims to present an integrated and comprehensive review of analytes recommended for the effective diagnosis and management of diabetes.

An open forum will be available for laboratory personnel, clinical practitioners, and other healthcare professionals and specialists to discuss the recommendations and their applications. More...
The participants will have the opportunity to contribute feedback towards the development of the final version of the NACB guidelines.

At the conference, experts will present recommendations for plasma glucose measurement, non-invasive glucose measurement, genetic testing, autoantibodies, and ketones, and other analytes used in diagnosing and managing patients with diabetes.

A two-day conference on the updated laboratory guidelines for the diagnosis and management of diabetes is planned for November 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia (USA). The conference is being presented by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC; Washington, DC, USA).
