A biologic aerosol collection, detection, and identification system performs ultra-sensitive tests to detect harmful pathogens for both the clinical infectious disease and biodefense markets. More...

The BioFlash biologic detector is rugged, portable, and incorporates a high-volume aerosol sampler. The well-integrated technology provides rapid, specific, and sensitive detection of 21 biologic threat agents in single test or multi-test formats within minutes.

Developed and launched by Innovative Biosensors, Inc. (IBI; Rockville, MD, USA), BioFlash can be implemented in various scenarios such as field detection/identification and environmental monitoring, military force protection, and facility security management.

"BioFlash is the only system that has integrated the combination of collection, detection, and identification facets and which can be further integrated for building security purposes or alternatively used in the field by our military and first responders or for environmental monitoring of pathogens,” said Joe Hernandez, president and CEO of IBI. "We are proud to provide a complete stand-alone solution with such excellent performance which is low-risk, cost-effective, and provides high-value information.”

"We are very excited about the performance validation testing at private and government laboratories that BioFlash will be undergoing,” said Richard Thomas, IBI's vice president of business development. "We will continue to expand the utilization capabilities of BioFlash with testing in a variety of environments and conditions.”

Innovative Biosensors develops novel technologies for the rapid detection of pathogens in human clinical diagnostics and biodefense applications. IBI's technology has been tailored to detect rapidly and sensitively biologic threats in building security, military, and civil defense applications. Additionally, the technology platform is being used to develop rapid tests for the detection of hospital-acquired infections.
