Digital X-Ray and Fluoroscopy Systems Increase Workflow in Scottish Hospital

The Luminos provides imaging for diagnostic and therapeutic arthrography of the hip/shoulders and other joints, hysterosalpingography (HSG), barium studies, and lap-band adjustments. The Ysio provides general X-ray imaging.

Featuring an Ysio X-ray tube, the Luminos dRF provides a great level of versatility enabling digital imaging with a wireless portable detector. In addition to providing high quality imaging, the ceiling-suspended X-ray tube and MaxTouch user interface place exposure values at the radiographer's fingertips for fast and convenient in-room access. The advantage of digital fluoroscopy also means consultants can gain real-time access to images that can then be archived directly into picture archiving and communication system (PACS) without the need for manual administration.

The Ysio wi-D provides an image in less than five seconds after exposure, which helps in fast workflow and immediate delivery to the hospital PACS system for reporting. The lightweight wireless detector can be used anywhere within the X-ray room. The X-ray tube can be moved using a simple remote control reducing the manual strain on clinical staff.

"Before the Ysio equipment was installed in both our Edinburgh hospitals patients were asked for certain imaging to stand on quite a high step and with this equipment there is no longer a requirement to do that. The wireless flexibility of the Ysio wi-D has not only significantly improved patient comfort but ease-of-use for the radiographer," said Kim Hogg, radiology manager at Spire Edinburgh Hospitals.
