Agfa HealthCare (Agfa; Mortsel, Belgium), a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic image management solutions, signed a contract with Denmark's capital region, Hovedstaden, to install and manage the IMPAX radiology information system/picture archiving system (RIS/PACS) region-wide. The agreement consolidates the 12 regional hospitals in and around Copenhagen, enabling clinicians to gain secure access to patient data and images across the entire area. The solution will also include the company's IMPAX data center, creating a cross-regional image and data repository.

"It is with great enthusiasm that Agfa HealthCare takes on this challenging cross-regional RIS/PACS project," says Mek Buhl Nielsen, imaging informatics-business unit manager, Agfa HealthCare Nordic. "Bringing our entire IMPAX portfolio to Region Hovedstaden to meet the highly complex organizational, workflow and technology requirements will help improve its clinical processes, and ultimately, the delivery of patient care."
