Ultrasound System Improves Contrast Without Compromising Spatial Resolution

Although designed for vascular applications, a new ultrasound system can be used in a variety of clinical settings.

The DC-T6 ultrasound system, developed by Mindray (Shenzhen, China), features a 15-inch adjustable thin film transistor (TFT) screen, up to two hours of scanning per battery charge, and traditional features such as four-dimensional (4D) and tissue Doppler imaging, as well as proprietary speckle reduction and image resolution management.

Other features of the system include: octal beam formation, which strikes the balance between temporal and scanning resolution; iClear speckle reduction technology, which improves contrast resolution of lesions without compromising spatial resolution; iBeam enhances border definition using real time spatial compounding imaging; real-time 4D imaging; iScape view provides real-time panoramic imaging; autocalculation of vascular intima-media thickness (IMT); TDI (tissue Doppler imaging) with quantitative analysis; and free Xros CM, an anatomic M-mode with curved sample line; and phase shift tissue harmonic imaging (THI) to improve cystic clarity and provide better signal to noise ratio.
