The monitor comes in 6- and 12-channel configurations, with the 6-channel version designed specifically for remote monitoring applications, telemedicine, and home-care programs.

The new monitor is packaged together with EKGCard, a PC card electrocardiograph device, and Office Medic software. The devices can connect to any Windows-based computer running the software, instantly turning it into a full-functioning electrocardiograph. The ECG products are from QRS Diagnostic, LLC (Plymouth, MA, USA). The company specializes in developing software-based medical devices that seamlessly integrate with standard PCs, palmtop, and Internet appliances.

"The cost savings and convenience of performing spirometry, pulse oximetry, and electrocardiography on one computer are significant,” said David Lerner, director of engineering at QRS.
