Flat Detector X-ray System

Posted on 18 Sep 2005
A new biplane neurovascular x-ray system provides integrated three-dimensional (3D) tools to expand interventional applications.

The Allura Xper FD20/10, developed by Philips Medical Systems (Best, The Netherlands), includes interventional tools such as 3D Roadmapping, XperCT, and real time 3D-RA, and provides considerable advances in three dimensional (3D) interventional imaging technologies.

Suitable for intricate neurovascular procedures, the Allura Xper FD20/10 provides accurate 3D reconstructions and low dose settings for patients and staff. More...
The system has high image clarity, possible through Philips unique 2K x 2K distortion-free imaging chain. The integrated 3D concept enables real time reconstructions so neuro-interventional specialists can create an instant 3D reconstruction of complicated vasculature with a single rotational scan.

The unique capabilities of the biplane system are utilized in the 3D Roadmapping feature. This technology enables clinicians to see a 3D view of target vessels superimposed on live 2D images--fluoroscopy data sets--allowing for accurate live 3D catheter navigation, facilitating interventional treatment during very complex cases. An in-room monitor shows the 3D Roadmap while in parallel an x-ray monitor displays live fluoroscopy.

"The introduction of the Allura Xper FD20/10 system as well as 3D
Roadmapping and XperCT, further push the boundaries of neuro-interventional treatment,” said Bert van Meurs, senior vice president, Cardio/Vascular X-ray, for Philips Medical Systems.
