Luxembourg to Host Med-e-Tel Conference

The 2006 conference of Med-e-Tel will take place in Luxembourg, April 5-7, 2006. More...
The conference will focus on ehealth, telemedicine, and information technology (IT).

Specific workshops and symposiums include "Global Healthcare Challenges and Opportunities” (broadband networks, mobile solutions, environmental sensors, and telemedicine technologies); "Homecare and Health/Disease Management” (medication compliance, telemonitoring of vital signs, fall detection, video communication); "Knowledge Sharing and Decision Support for Healthcare Professionals” (IT tools for healthcare professionals that reduce the time and costs to collect information and knowledge); and "IT at the Service of the Client-Patient: New Solutions and New Strategies for Hospitals, Mutualities, and the Industry” (automated appointment booking, online consultation, electronic patient records, elearning, telemonitoring, eprescribing, image transfer, wireless and mobile solutions).

Another session will consider "eHealth in Developing Countries,” with contributions from the World Health Organization (WHO) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU) representatives, while a session on "Satellites as Basic eHealth Tool” will review the practical and growing use of satellite communication in eHealth. Conference registration includes access to all conference sessions and exhibitions.

A welcome reception will be held on the evening of April 5 as well as an attendee and exhibitor reception on April 6.
