Agfa Receives Informatics Leadership Award

A global growth consulting company calls Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) "well underway to becoming a total solution provider in the healthcare information technology (IT) space, while maintaining an open architecture to ensure interoperability in a heterogeneous ecosystem.”

The 2006 Frost & Sullivan Award for North American Medical Informatics Competitive Strategy Leadership of the Year has been awarded to Agfa HealthCare. More...
Frost & Sullivan, an international growth consultancy company (Palo Alto, CA, USA), noted that, "In 2005 Agfa HealthCare set in motion the execution of an ambitious, full-fledged strategy set to reinforce the company's position as a leading provider of medical informatics solutions for the healthcare enterprise. During 2006, the company, led by Bob Pryor, president of Agfa HealthCare, Americas, decisively embarked upon the projected growth path. Frost & Sullivan commends Agfa HealthCare's competitive strategy in the North American market, and is proud to bestow upon Agfa HealthCare the North American Medical Informatics Competitive Strategy Leadership of the Year Award for 2007.”

In selecting Agfa HealthCare for the award, Frost & Sullivan commented that the company successfully overcame "the key challenges facing the highly competitive PACS (picture archiving and communication system) industry” by developing key services for PACS customers.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Competitive Strategy Leadership of the Year is presented to the company whose competitive strategy has yielded significant gains in market share during the research period.
