A new radiology information system (RIS) has been designed for rapid, easy installation to meet the needs of small to mid-sized hospitals.

Carestream Health, Inc. More...
(Rochester, NY, USA) has recently debuted a pre-configured version of its Kodak Carestream RIS that enables small to medium-sized hospitals to quickly achieve desired workflow efficiencies. The RIS Standard Configuration provides excellent functionality and comprehensive reporting. It is available immediately in the United States.

Similar to the company's successful RIS platform for the imaging center market, this RIS provides all the features needed for an efficient workflow at a cost-effective price. An optional mammography module includes specialized scheduling, patient communication, and reporting capabilities. User-friendly windows minimize the need for training.

The RIS's open architecture is highly scalable and supports web-based user access. Facility logos and diagnostic report templates are personalized for each healthcare provider and further customization can be performed at an additional cost.

Carestream Health markets fully featured RIS and picture archiving communication system (PACS) platforms, along with an innovative enterprise-wide storage management architecture that manages Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and non-DICOM information stored on various hardware platforms at multiple locations. Carestream radiology systems address the diverse operational needs of clinics, imaging centers, hospitals, and healthcare networks, including orthopedic, mammography, and oncology facilities.

Carestream Health, an independent company, has licensed the Kodak brand for use with its own brands--such as Carestream, Directview, and Dryview--across its range of leading-edge medical imaging and healthcare information technology (IT) products.
