The tests have been cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The tests were developed by Corgenix Medical Corp. (Denver, CO, USA) and are designed for use in the laboratory diagnosis and risk assessment of blood-clotting disorders. The company has developed other anti-phospholipid tests, including an assay for anticardiolipin, an antiphosphatidylserine, and an antiprothrombin test kit.

"With the clearance from the FDA to market these enhanced products, Corgenix is the only company providing clinical laboratories worldwide with a choice of antiphospholipid tests in both a format for fast turnaround time for semi-automated testing, and an enhanced version for automated use,” said Doug Simpson, president of Corgenix.
