Kits for Detection of Mutations in Liver Enzymes

These mutations are common in patients with atypical drug metabolism, which can lead to ADRs. The Tag-It Mutation Detection kits were developed by Tm Bioscience Corp. (Toronto, Canada; www.tmbioscience.com).

Scientists estimate that 90% of currently available prescription drugs are metabolized by P450-derived enzymes. The Tag-It suite of P450 kits is designed to provide a cost-effective, high-quality solution that provides laboratories with a predictive tool to evaluate possible ADRs. The 2C9 test provides simultaneous detection of five different mutations of Cytochrome P450 in a multiplex format, while the 2C19 test provides simultaneous detection of seven mutations in a multiplex format.
