Posted on 14 Sep 2004
A conference exploring the future of laboratory medicine will be held in Chicago (IL, USA) on October 21-22, 2004. More...
Called "Lab 2007: Your Eye to the Future of Laboratory Medicine,” the meeting is designed for laboratory directors and managers as well as others interested in new developments in this field.

Attendees will learn which technologic advances will define the future, where the growth areas of testing will be, how market forces will shape the industry, the crucial link between drug discovery and new assay development, and how clinical genetic tests will emerge as a major test market. Industry experts will tackle the fastest changing and most challenging issues facing laboratory professionals.

The clinical laboratory will play an even bigger role in patient management in the near future. Molecular, proteomic, and genetic testing are rapidly maturing to make high-value testing a key concern of laboratory medicine. The conference will offer the tools needed to guide laboratories into the future. The conference is being held by the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC; www.aacc.org). Further details are available on the AACC website.
