Test Measures Three Levels of Estradiol

The company notes that estradiol testing can be useful for a variety of conditions, including early or delayed puberty, and can also play an important role in the treatment of infertility. The Architect i2000 and i2000SR systems can process up to 200 immunoassay tests an hour without compromising test throughput or turnaround time.

"In addition, Architect estradiol has excellent correlation to the ‘gold standard' gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) testing. This correlation supports the excellent functional sensitivity and accuracy of the assay.”

Estradiol levels vary, depending on the condition being treated. Levels are usually low in children and men, but in women the levels rise and fall during the normal menstrual cycle. Thus, a diagnostic test has to be able to provide precise results across a wide measurement range.
