Automated EIA Analyzer

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 05 Apr 2005
A new enzyme immunoassay (EIA) analyzer offers fully automated microplate processing as well as a number of new features.

Called Freedom EVOlyzer, the analyzer includes a state-of-the-art reader, washer, and incubation units operated by new specific EVOlyzer software. More...
The analyzer comes in three sizes (100, 150, 200) and is ideal for low- to high-throughput and various batch size requirements.

New features such as continuous loading and parallel sample pipetting improve throughput and allow efficient utilization as well as optimal scheduling of laboratory tasks. Communication with the laboratory information-management system (LIMS) and flexible worklist management is easily performed via an integrated ASTM (American Society for Testing of Materials) interface.

Microplate-based assays have a wide range of applications, ranging from blood bank laboratories to hospitals, reference, and veterinary laboratories. Designed as an open system, the Freedom EVOlyzer automates commercially available EIAs. The new analyzer is available from Tecan Iberica Instrumentation S.L. (Barcelona, Spain).

Tecan offers courses to train technical personnel and supervisors in operation and set-up of processes to insure reliable and in vitro diagnostic (IVD)-compliant operation of the instrument.
