Multilink Speeds Hematology Analysis

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 27 May 2005
A new multilink system allows up to three hematology analyzers to be connected to the same validation station, enabling hematology laboratories to handle up to 2,000 samples per day with configurations tailored to individual lab requirements.

The system, called ABX Pentra ML, is designed for use with the hematology analyzers of Horiba ABX (Montpellier, France). More...
The ABX Pentra ML allows any model from the company's ABX Pentra or Micros hematology analyzer line to be linked in any combination. All results can be centralized on the same screen to be validated automatically or manually.

Horiba has launched a new line of ABX Pentra 120 analyzers that incorporate exclusive technology called Double Diff Matrix. This feature significantly reduces manual differentials, enabling scientists for the first time to distinguish three key cell lines involved in leukopoiesis. Double Diff Matrix technology combines flow cytometry and cytochemistry to provide routine identification and quantification of the three immature lines involved in leukopoiesis: granulocytic, lymphocytic, and monocytic. Thanks to true reflex testing, the number of slide re-examinations is reduced and the hematologist receives a fast report enabling rapid decision-making. The ABX Pentra DF 120 offers 32 parameters and 120 samples per hour, while an expert validation station provides automatic confirmation and validation of results.
