Chemistry System for High-Volume Labs

A new integrated chemistry/immunochemistry system is designed for high-volume clinical laboratory customers. More...
The system has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Seven tests were also cleared by the FDA in addition to the Dimension Vista 1500 system: urea nitrogen (BUN), immunoglobulin G (IGG), phenobarbital (PHNO), mass creatine kinase MB isoenzyme (MMB), and the V-Lyte integrated multisensor for a sodium (Na), potassium (K), and chloride (C1) panel. These tests and the Dimension Vista system are the products of Dade Behring (Deerfield, IL).

The Dimension Vista system combines photometry, turbidemetry, nephelometry, integrated multisensor technology (IMT), and LOCI (logic programming for parallel computational field simulations) technologies. The design integrates analysis of electrolytes, general and specific chemistries, drugs-of-abuse, therapeutic drugs, immunosuppressive drugs, plasma proteins, cardiac marker tests and high-sensitivity immunoassays into one analyzer.

"The Dimension Vista system is the foundation for a whole new generation of Dade Behring analyzers and builds on the success of Dade Behring's Dimension RxL and Xpand systems,” observed Jim Reid-Anderson, president and CEO of Dade Behring. "This clearance is an important milestone in preparation for the product launch, and we feel confident that once commercialized, this system will be an innovative and effective solution to our customers' real day-to-day issues in the lab.”

Combination Therapy Before Surgery Drives Stronger Tumor Reduction in Head and Neck Cancer

Patients with head and neck cancer who are scheduled for surgery often face a waiting period with limited treatment, creating an opportunity to reduce viable tumor burden before the operation.... Read more
