New Testing Technology Uses Interstitial Fluid

The results of linearity experiments utilizing this new chemistry system, called Pushita, suggest it is capable of measuring the full clinical range of cholesterol levels.

Other applications for the new technology include large chronic disease populations requiring constant spot monitoring, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and clinical depression. The first application being pursued is the measurement of glucose in diabetics. By painlessly measuring ISF at the forefinger, Pushita is designed to address deficiencies in current blood glucose meters. Pushita was developed by MircoSense International, LLC (St. Louis, MO, USA).

"Pushita is uniquely positioned to provide patients with a safe, painless and simple method of determining levels of critical biologic markers necessary for the maintenance of quality of life,” said William Edelman, chairman and CEO of MicroSense.
