Noncommercial Website Describes Clinical Tests

The original six sponsors include Abbott Laboratories, Bayer Diagnostics, Beckman Coulter, Dade Behring, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, and Roche Diagnostics. These companies were recently joined by Diagnostic Products Corp. (DPC) and Genzyme Diagnostic Products.

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) has become a collaborating partner in the editorial development of the site. Dr. Craig Kessler of the Georgetown University Medical Center (Washington, DC, USA) will represent ASH on the Editorial Board, joining representatives from the AACC, American Clinical Laboratory Association, American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society for Microbiology, and Clinical Laboratory Management Association.

The site recently won recognition by an international Swiss not-for-profit foundation (HON, Health-on-the-Net Foundation) formed to help consumers identify websites with credible medical and health information, and it is now a member of the HON network.
