Hemoglobin Testing System for Doctors

Due to its small size, it can be taken to the patient and used anywhere in a doctor's office or clinic. When a drop of blood is placed on the test strip, it disperses immediately within the membrane as it is exposed to the reagent. This causes the red cells to release their hemoglobin. The system's optical detectors measure the change in the membrane reflectance and calculate total hemoglobin concentration. The results appear on the meter's data screen. Error codes are displayed if problems occur. The system, called Hgb Pro, is the product of International Technidyne Corp. (ITC, Edison, NJ, USA).
