Posted on 01 Feb 2011
An advanced acute hospital bed combines practicality, enhanced infection control, and advanced ergonomics.

The Independence Innov8 range of hospital beds has been designed to meet the needs of both hospital teams and patients in all hospital environments, from general wards to high dependency units. More...
The use of column actuators means that it is simultaneously capable of a very low bed height, while still having clearance for hoists and bed pushers. Both patient handset and nurse control panels are provided, with the ability to lock out specific patient modifiable functions via the nurse control panel, if needed.

The Innov8 incorporates an X-ray backrest and Oxygen carrier, as well as split side rails. It is reliable and easily maintained, and incorporates superb ergonomics from both a manual handling and patient comfort point of view. Profiling (with battery backup) electrical positioning include Trendelenburg, reverse-Trendelenburg, backrest, kneebreak and height adjustment, with all positions available with autocontour, autoregression, and cardiac chair features. The beds also have a special BioCote antimicrobial coating, which lowers bacteria levels by up to 99.9%, reducing the risk of cross infection and inhibiting the growth of microorganisms. The Independence Innov8 range of hospital beds are a product of Sidhil (Halifax, United Kingdom).

"All our beds are manufactured in the UK to the highest quality standards before being sent out to hospitals around the world," said Clive Siddall, sales and marketing director of Sidhil. "We have been manufacturing for 110 years and during this time have invested heavily in the latest state-of-the-art machinery and techniques. With so many unique design features the Innov8 rewrites the rule books on hospital beds."
