The technology developed by Brite-Strike Technologies Inc. (Duxbury, MA, USA) adds this critical component to N95 masks. The micro device can be installed in any N95 in seconds and can also be used in conjunction with hydrogen peroxide and a heat source to decontaminate a single user N95 mask in the field.

The company, which holds numerous patents related to LED light in visible, IR (infrared) and UV (ultraviolet) light as well as UV light for sterilization of air and water, has received FDA Pre-EAU approval to begin testing the device.
