Alliance to Market Emergency Department Systems

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 16 Jan 2004
An agreement to co-market their systems to hospital emergency departments (EDs) has been announced by Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS, Aliso Viejo, CA, USA) and Global Care Quest, Inc. More...
(GCQ, Los Angeles, CA, USA).

Under the agreement, PCTS will be the exclusive marketer of GCQ's line of mobile technologies for ED information systems, which will be offered in conjunction with its own Amelior ED patient care system. GCQ integrates hospital, clinical, and radiologic data and delivers patient information directly to caregivers via handheld devices such as PDAs (personal digital assistants), WiFi systems, or desktop computers. These enable healthcare professionals to access real-time patient data, including life waveforms, radiologic images, and vital sign trends from bedside monitors. The Amelior system manages ED information and includes modules for triage, patient tracking, physician tracking, and prescription writing.

"With GCQ mobile solutions, we are introducing two significant new capabilities: enhanced mobile access to rich patient data and images, and expanded data acquisition to further strengthen the usability, productivity, and patient safety features of Amelior ED,” said Rephael Inbar, CEO of PCTS. "By enabling caregivers remote access to vital patient data, we are addressing both severe staffing shortages as well as improving patient workflow and safety.”
