Exercising an option of a recently formed joint venture, Maxxon, Inc. More...
(Tulsa, OK, USA), has acquired a patented new scalpel that claims to be the only spring-loaded automatic retractable scalpel that permanently locks using a one-handed technique.

Maxxon formed the joint venture with Globe Med Tech (Globe, Houston, TX, USA). Globe is beginning a marketing campaign to distribute the product. Globe is a high-tech medical safety and drug delivery products developer and manufacturer, with a clean-room manufacturing presence in China. The company markets its products in the United States and around the world, providing the medical industry with low-cost, high-quality products.

Maxxon is a development-stage company committed to reducing the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries and deaths in healthcare workers. The company's 3 cc safety syringe, presently in development, is designed as a single-handed, vacuum-operated safety syringe that retracts the used needle into the syringe after use.

"The joint venture with Globe Med Tech is clearly a win-win situation,” stated Ron Wheet, CEO, Maxxon. "It brings together two companies with diverse backgrounds with distinct strengths, allowing both parties to focus on their forte. Globe will continue to evaluate new safety products and patents and will attempt to bring related products and technologies to the joint venture.”
