(NY, USA) and Fischer Imaging Corp. (Denver, CO, USA) have signed an agreement that makes Kodak the authorized worldwide service provider for Fischer's breast cancer screening equipment.

Kodak's Health Group will offer post-sale support, including telephone customer technical support and on-site equipment repair and maintenance, for Fischer's Senoscan system for full-field digital mammography (FFDM) and its Mammotest breast biopsy system.

Fischer Imaging believes that this agreement will provide its customers with access to repair and maintenance capabilities from a large and highly responsive worldwide service organization. Fischer's Senoscan system enables medical personnel to produce mammograms digitally. Fischer's Mammotest system is used when suspicious regions are identified from a screening mammogram and a biopsy may be needed. This system is used to locate and remove some of the tissue in question for additional testing.

"Customers will benefit from Kodak's expertise in mammography--combined with our global service capabilities--and can count on a high-level of satisfaction regarding their service needs for Fischer's breast cancer screening equipment,” stated Gordon Moore, worldwide multi-vendor business manager for Kodak's Health Group. "Kodak offers healthcare organizations and device manufacturers the opportunity to save time and money by contracting with Kodak to meet a wide variety of service requirements.”
