AMN Healthcare (San Diego, CA, USA), a healthcare workforce solutions and staffing service provider, has acquired Peak Health Solutions (Franklin, TN, USA), a national health information management services company that provides remote medical coding and consulting solutions to hospitals and physician medical groups across the U.S.

AMN provides access to a comprehensive network of healthcare professionals through its recruitment strategies and several career opportunities. It also provides managed services programs, healthcare executive search solutions, vendor management systems, recruitment process outsourcing, predictive modelling, and other consulting services. The company serves acute-care hospitals, community health centers and clinics, physician practice groups, retail and urgent care centers, home health facilities, and other healthcare settings.

Peak Health Solutions provides mid-revenue cycle solutions to acute care and physician practice markets. The company’s customizable services include remote medical coding, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), compliance and revenue integrity auditing, denials management, physician training and education, electronic medical record (EMR) optimization, and interim staffing solutions. Clients include multi-facility hospital networks, large integrated delivery networks (IDNs), teaching and community hospitals, large physician practices, and the United States Armed Forces, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Navy, Air Force, and Army. Financial details were not disclosed.

“As the industry leader in workforce solutions, AMN takes great pride in listening and responding to the ever changing needs of our clients through both internal innovation and strategic acquisitions,” said Susan Salka, President and CEO of AMN Healthcare. “The addition of Peak Health Solutions will expand our workforce solutions and enable AMN to offer our clients services in accurately coding diagnosis and procedure codes, which is critical to clinical quality reporting and the financial health of healthcare organizations.”

“With more than 150,000 ICD-10 codes to choose from, healthcare organizations have an ongoing need for coding support to reduce potential lost revenue, minimize compliance risk, and augment their billing teams. Our purpose is to help healthcare providers classify and improve clinical documentation to ensure accurate outcomes and timely reimbursement,” said John Morris, President of Peak Health Solutions. “Together with AMN Healthcare, we can deliver even greater value to the evolving healthcare community.”
