Fischer and iCAD to Cooperate on CAD Mammography

An agreement to cooperate in adapting the computer-aided detection (CAD) technology of iCAD, Inc. More...
(Hudson, NH, USA) for use in the analysis of the mammograms produced by the SenoScan digital mammography system of Fischer Imaging Corp. (Denver, CO, USA) was announced by the two companies at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago (IL, USA).

Under the agreement, Fischer will have worldwide exclusive rights to market this specialized iCAD software, designed to assist radiologists in identifying cancers that might otherwise be overlooked in routine mammography screening. Computer-aided detection from iCAD has been shown to detect 23% of breast cancers an average of 14 months earlier than screening mammography. ICAD says it is the fastest system available, is the only system to look for asymmetries, and is the most effective system available to detect breast masses.

"The SenoScan's industry-leading resolution of 50 microns in screening mode and 25 microns in diagnostic mode make it the ideal platform for iCAD's technology. We look forward to the results of this collaborative effort,” said Gerald D. Knudson, CEO of Fischer Imaging.
