Tissue Oxygen Monitor for Nonhealing Wounds

A monitor enables the simultaneous measurement of tissue oxygenation at up to six sites along a limb or around a wound.

The noninvasive transcutaneous instrument is designed to improve the assessment of chronic wounds and to benefit patients with wounds or vascular disease that might lead to amputation by detecting critical limb ischemia. More...
The monitor, TCM400, has received a 2002 Danish Design Prize.

Award winning aspects of the TCM400 design noted by the jury included high functionality combined with simple handling, excellent user interface, improvement in patient safety, efficient and reliable diagnostic procedure, easy comparison of test results, and full portability with ease of transport. The monitor is the product of Radiometer Medical A/S (Copenhagen, Denmark).
