By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 20 Oct 2003

The device is guidewire compatible and features a variable, radiopaque loop design, which allows for loop size adjustment during the procedure and within the vessel. More...
"These features simplify the clinical procedure and eliminate excessive inventory requirements of other devices on the market,” said Jeffrey Sheldon, president and CEO of IDev Technologies, Inc. (Houston, TX, USA), which developed the device.

Called the Texan, the device has received the CE Mark and is now being introduced to the European market by IDev. Sales there will be handled by a combination of independent distributors and IDev international representatives. The company has established an international division in Brussels (Belgium) to service European and Middle East markets, and is currently negotiating product distribution rights with several European and Middle East distributors.

IDev is an ISO-9001-certified developer of medical devices for use in interventional radiology and cardiology. The company's portfolio contains 20 technologies exclusively licensed from the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (TX).
