Posted on 06 Feb 2008
A new high resolution liquid crystal display (LCD) has a 4-megapixel medical-grade 30-inch display platform designed with key features to meet the needs of clinical, operating room (OR)/surgical, and diagnostic review applications.

Image-dependent clinical review specialties, which rely on a fusion of color and grayscale images for diagnosis, treatment, and planning, are suitable applications to employ the its Image Systems FP304 display in dual-view mode. More...
This configuration is capable of displaying side-by-side 1600 x 1200 color or grayscale images. For diagnostic review and OR/surgical applications, the display in single-view mode can display color or grayscale images up to 2560 x 1600.

"Our goal was to design a large screen, high-resolution display platform with multiple application options,” commented David Sorensen, director of engineering for Richardson's Healthcare Display Systems Group (La Fox, IL, USA). "The surgical version is IEC 60601-1 certified and IPX2 rated as ‘splash-proof.' It also includes a hardened, multi-layer AR protective panel and sealed rear buttons, making it an ideal display for the OR and Trauma Centers.”
All FP304 Series LCDs include dual DVI-D inputs, a high-performance video card, built-in front sensor and embedded rear sensor. The FP304 Series LCDs are compatible with Image Systems' Calibration Feedback System (CFS) and can be calibrated to the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and TG18 standards. The FP304CA carries a three-year warranty with optional advanced replacement service.

Since its founding in 1988, and acquisition by Richardson Electronics in 2005, the Image Systems brand of products has evolved to provide a complete line of medical imaging display systems for the healthcare information technology (IT) market, including monochrome and color LCDs, video graphics cards, calibration hardware and software, touch panels, custom LCD and cathode ray tube (CRT) displays, mounting systems and accessories. Image Systems products are exclusively distributed by Richardson Electronics.
