Posted on 21 Jul 2010
A new operating room (OR) table meets the growing demands of different surgical disciplines and, at the same time, enable multifunctional application options.

The Maquet Alphastar Pro OR table offers two different height-setting versions and an extensive range of accessories, making it suitable for orthopedic, traumatology, neurosurgical, cardiac, and other procedures encompassing a wide spectrum of surgical tasks and patient sizes. More...
The accessories are connected using a simple proprietary "Easy-Click" system, which allows the rapid deployment of a broad range of socket-mounted modules. A multisectioned tabletop is used to ensure the anatomically correct positioning of patients in all areas of application, and can be individually adjusted for the corresponding surgical intervention. A range of 360° radiolucent carbon fiber modules enable intraoperative monitoring with imaging processing, and a seat plate extension can be connected to give optimal radioscopy of the urogenital area.

As well as offering exceptional stability, The Alphastar Pro is provided with motor-powered leg plates to deliver better and more correct patient positioning, especially important in gynecological and urological operations, as well as better staff access to the OR table by avoiding possible collisions against the table base. The flexible height adjustment (598 mm to 1,120 mm), allows the surgeon to work in an ergonomic position during operations, whether seated or standing.

The OR table is controlled using an infrared (IR) or cable-corded hand control and guarantees safe operation, even at critical phases of the surgical procedure. Safe handling is also possible thanks to the illuminated keypad, even in darkened ORs, for example, during minimally invasive interventions. Special foam core (SFC) padding with multilayer design offers patients significantly greater comfort and supports decubitus prevention. The Maquet Alphastar Pro OR is a product of Maquet (Rastatt, Germany).
