Otolase uses a combination of multi-use straight and bent handpieces with a grasping mechanism for simple maneuvering and optimal ergonomics, and single use straight and bent tips. All handpieces, shafts, and tip are designed to facilitate an effective operational field.

The small spot size and ultra-thin, highly durable tip provide microsurgical precision during fenestration, predictable tissue interaction, and delicate layer-by-layer tissue removal with minimal thermal spread. Among the procedures the system can perform are debulking and coagulation of vascular tumors, stapedotomy, tympanoplasty, scar tissue and adhesions dissection, and treatment of acoustic neuroma, cholesteatoma, glomus tumor, myringotomy, and tympanostomy.
