Multifunctional Remote Control X-Ray System

By HospiMedica staff writers
Posted on 14 Oct 2003
A remote-control x-ray system that combines digital, computed radiography (CR) and conventional imaging applications is based on technology designed to increase productivity and enable faster diagnoses by allowing doctors to personalize the system.

The system can be used in a variety of settings, including orthopedics, gastrointestinal, pediatric, urogenital, angiography, and traumatology. More...
It allows doctors to conduct analysis, measurements, and reconstructions in the control room and, if required, the results can be simultaneously displayed in the exam room. Called OmniDiagnost Eleva, the system is the final addition to the Eleva line of (Best, The Netherlands). The system features DoseWise technology, which Philips states ensures high-quality images while exposing patients and staff to the lowest possible dose of radiation. Another feature, ViewForum, enables doctors to integrate viewing and processing of images from different modalities, such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MR).

"It offers clinicians greater flexibility due to its extensive application range, and the unique Eleva technology helps streamline workflow and increase departmental efficiency by enabling the system to adapt to the way individual clinicians work,” said Erik Vossen, international product manager for the OmniDiagnost Eleva.
