Geneva to Host World IT Conference

Over 2,000 health information technology (IT) professionals will gather October 10-13, 2006, in Geneva (Switzerland), for the World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition.

The conference will incorporate a Satellite Symposia, which will include a number of presentations, including A Physicians' Symposium: IT Driving Innovation; Leadership Symposium: Towards a Citizen-Centered Delivery World; Nursing Informatics Symposium; and a United Nations Symposium: Delivering on the Promise of eHealth in Countries.

A three-day conference program of informative, interactive, and provocative educational sessions will be presented as well as a full-scale, state-of-the-art vendor exhibition that includes an interoperability showcase and product tutorials. More...


The World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition will provide an excellent forum for the healthcare IT communities across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. For the first time, the numerous communities involved in establishing efficient citizen-centered healthcare systems will come together to discuss and learn from each other; find solutions; exchange information, data, and benchmarks; and review innovative products and systems.

Some 2,000 health professionals from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa are expected to participate. The conference was organized by the European Commission (Information Society & Media), the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the World Health Organization (WHO), EUROREC, COCIR, European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL), Health Information Network Europe (HINE), the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME), the European Health Management Association (EHMA), and the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation (HOPE).
