A proactive remote monitoring service has been successfully integrated into digital radiography (DR) systems.

Swissray International, Inc. More...
(Elizabeth, NJ, USA), a global leader in digital radiography technology, has developed a sophisticated monitoring service for its digital radiographic systems utilizing technology from Questra Corp. (Redwood City, CA, USA), a leading provider of intelligent device management (IDM) systems.

"Reducing the customer's total cost of ownership and maintaining a 99% uptime were our goals,” stated Ueli Laupper, Swissray's senior vice president for global sales and marketing. "Our engineers worked closely with the Questra team and created a solution that allows us to proactively monitor and manage our DR Systems 24/7. All new Swissray ddR [direct digital radiography] systems come equipped with remote monitoring capabilities. This is the biggest improvement in digital radiography reliability since DR was first introduced to the world by Swissray.”

Swissray's new remote service fully supports monitoring, diagnostics, proactive and reactive alarms/alerts, remote desktop control, software configuration management, and analytics on a real-time, fulltime basis. The Questra IDM Application Suite integrated into Swissray's DR devices will provide a proactive service system that meets the unique needs of healthcare providers for patient privacy protection, faster response time, maximum uptime, and lower maintenance cost.

This software has tight security provisions that complement healthcare providers' existing network security infrastructure including firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Swissray is able to provide advanced digital radiographic equipment with remote monitoring and diagnostics that can be configured to comply with virtually any health care provider's information technology (IT) network.

The integration of Questra software into Swissray's customer support center provides a system that will help healthcare providers comply with government regulations protecting confidential patient information. The Questra IDM Application Suite includes enterprise platform software, server-based applications, agents loaded into in-field devices, and connectors that interface with call centers, CRM/ERP enterprise applications, and wireless devices.

Swissray has received the Best Product Value award for their digital radiography systems from Frost & Sullivan, an international growth consultancy company.
