Two digital radiography (DR) systems utilize a removable DR panel and allow clinicians the flexibility to obtain images from virtually any position without moving the patient. More...
The enhancements improve patient comfort and result in faster exams, supporting current imaging needs by handling ambulatory, wheel chair, and stretcher patients.

Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (Tustin, CA, USA) recently demonstrated the T.Rad-Plus Digital and Kalare x-ray systems featuring DR technology at the 2006 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, IL, USA, November 26-December 1, 2006.

Designed for maximum flexibility, the ceiling-mounted T.Rad system with portable DR panel is built with independently moving components, and features a 700-pound table weight capacity and color touch-screen control panel for tableside operation. Toshiba's T.RAD-Plus Digital combines digital technology with productivity systems to help overcome the daily challenges facing today's radiography departments. In all applications, clinicians receive high-resolution images displayed instantly with digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) integration for a more efficient working environment.

Through digital efficiency and accuracy, this new system provides many advantages, including: faster exams resulting in increased throughput and productivity; considerable savings through the elimination of film and film-handling costs; and integration into picture archiving communications system (PACS) networks for optimized workflow.

The Kalare R&F system is designed to meet the needs of busy facilities and incorporates a portable DR panel, creating a 100% filmless system that works like two, and improves the utility of one room. Kalare expands general R&F and interventional radiology capabilities to help clinicians perform more exams with ease, comfort and speed.

Features include the latest EPS-Plus digital imaging system--an all-digital processing system designed to shorten exam times and reduce the costs of film, handling, and storage associated with conventional radiography and fluoroscopic procedures. The EPS-Plus used in combination with the removable DR panel and its workstation increases access to fluoroscopic and radiographic images, and speeds critical information to the point-of-care.
