Troubleshooting Cardiac Service Improves Server Uptime

By HospiMedica staff writers

A server maintenance system proactively ensures servers stay up and running, sparing cardiology facilities from costly downtime. More...

The Remote CardiacIT Administrator system, developed by Siemens Medical Solutions (Erlangen, Germany), improves server uptime and conducts a number of routine maintenance tests.

The Remote CardiacIT Administrator, available on syngo Dynamics Server or Acom.Net, is a server maintenance package. Servers require regular and consistent monitoring, particularly mission-critical systems such as the Acom.Net and syngo Dynamics servers because unaddressed problems can grow and compromise stability. The service is a proactive, weekly monitoring system that is manned by Siemens-certified technical engineers. They review system status events for application and server hardware errors, trends, or potential problems with non-archived patient data, helping to avoid issues before they occur.

"With the Remote CardiacIT Administrator, Siemens Medical Solutions can remotely delegate many routine maintenance tasks. It allows us to further improve the uptime of our syngo Dynamics and Acom.Net servers for our cardiology customers,” said Randy Hill, vice president, Siemens Medical Solutions Service Division. "This solution offers a tremendous value in terms of saving administrator time and improving system stability.”

Weekly, Siemens-certified engineers will check for administration errors; archive device and media log errors; perform remote repairs when possible; and notify customers when they need to take action. Moreover, the Siemens engineers can dispatch on-site service technicians if a remote fix is not possible.

The Remote CardiacIT Administrator service is available on any Acom.net server or syngo Dynamics server. It works with those servers in conjunction with a Siemens Medical Solutions cardiac catheter lab.

Siemens provides proactive diagnostic imaging technologies, including integrated systems for interventional cardiology, nuclear medicine, and echocardiography. syngo Dynamics is a multi-modality, dynamic image review, picture archiving and communications system (PACS). It enables evidence-based reporting to help improve the efficiency of clinical procedures for cardiology and general imaging.
