An anesthesia satisfaction tool offers easy to use, benchmarked, and real-time insight into the satisfaction of a hospital's surgeons with the performance of its anesthesia group in the operating room (OR).

The HPS Anesthesia Satisfaction Tool is a fully automated, web-based tool that captures input from surgeons with a brief five-minute survey. More...
Results are instantly compiled and readily accessible online as either an easy to use synopsis or a detailed results page. Performance on each question is followed to detect trends over four quarters, while results for the current quarter are benchmarked against peers. In addition to systematically measuring anesthesia performance, the anesthesia satisfaction tool also delivers real-time updates and the ability to easily monitor key anesthesia group clinical and customer service skills, placing these indicators instantly at a hospital administration's fingertips. Surgeon satisfaction with the responsiveness and quality of anesthesia care is often cited as a factor determining the choice of facility where operative cases are performed. The HPS Anesthesia Satisfaction Tool was developed by Healthcare Performance Strategies (HPS, Brentwood, TN, USA).

"Surgeon perception of quality and responsiveness should be a key metric used to measure the service being delivered by anesthesia groups,” said Robert Stiefel, M.D., principal director of HPS. "Our anesthesia satisfaction survey empowers hospital administrations to quickly identify problem areas and evaluate performance compared to their peer facilities and may even be utilized as a component of the performance incentive portion of anesthesia subsidy agreements.”
